A stoma is an opening on the front of your abdomen which is made using surgery. It allows faeces or urine to be collected in a pouch or bag on the outside of your body.
A stoma (or ostomy) may be needed to treat many illnesses like cancers, ulcerative colitis, Crohn disease, diverticulitis, trauma, and several urologic and neurologic conditions.
